GLOSSIER PRODUCTS WORTH PURCHASING
Back in February I flew to New York for the very first time, I was excited to experience so many different things, and on that list was of course, the Glossier show room. I came, I saw, I left with two things. TWO THINGS. Whilst my partner in crime Alix purchased the entire stock list, I left with minimal product for two reasons, one; cloud paint was days away from launching, and our trip was a little ill timed in that sense, but two; my makeup preferences were so different 10 months ago, and there are so many products I love now that just weren't for me back then. It just wasn't my time yet. Fast forward 10 months and I'm fresh out of summer and still living for bare-ish skin (with my usual loaded eyes, of course) and a dewy complexion. New products have launched and with my change in preferences it's opened up a whole new glossy world. After spending the past two months testing all things Glossier, I feel like I'm up to speed on things. In those two months they've also launched in the UK and brought out three new products (heads up: Glossier YOU review incoming), so there couldn't be a better time to take you through the stars of the Glossier showroom and show you what I think is worth purchasing...
MY TOP THREE
(IN ORDER OF GREATNESS)
So let's start off with my top three, if I had to give the rest of my Glossier stash away, these would be the ones I kept. The Haloscope highlighter has to be top of that list, it comes in stick form, in three shades, all with a dewy centre which gives you a real "summer skin" look, glowy, not shimmery. Not drying, it doesn't highlight any texture in your skin, it completely glosses over. Actually yes that's the perfect work for it, you literally look glossy. It makes my skin look like it has a completely different texture, miles from the dehydrated mess it can often seem. I use the shade Moonstone, which I always thought would be icy and white and look off against my olive skin tone. But it seems to run clear, giving a gorgeous dewy glow with minimal colour pay off. It's the highlighter I've been waiting for all my life.
Holy schmoley I just wrote a lot about a highlighter, maybe we should move on? The Glossier Skin Tint is one that I never thought I'd like, but whilst on my quest to get that angel-like Glossier girl skin, I popped this in to an order a few weeks back. I use the shade dark to give me a little more warmth to my skin (it's sheer so you can get away with this) and I FREAKING LOVE IT. It really does give a gorgeous glow to the skin with minimal coverage. My skin has been much better over the past six months, so this has become my everyday base of choice. And though the product amount is small, the packaging is very travel friendly, and for once my everyday base actually fits in to my makeup bag!
Finally, Cloud Paint is a must have for anyone who loves a cream blush. I use the shade Dusk, but all the shades are so beautiful, and you can mix shades together too to create a colour that's completely custom! The pigmentation is great and the consistency is gorgeous, and as with my other two favourites it seems to smooth over the skin, rather than drying down and highlighting texture.
Now, two out of three of these are quite widely raved about, so keep on reading if you want the scoop on the must haves for your beauty bag...

FOR THE SKINCARE JUNKIES
My two favourites from the skincare category are the Super Pure & Super Bounce serums, they're both light, non sticky, and leave your skin feeling lovely. Super Bounce aims to target hydration whilst Pure is ideal for blemish prone skin. The Priming Moisturiser Rich is a lovely day cream which leaves your skin feeling hydrated and ready for makeup. This one tends to be a people pleaser with good reviews on both the oily and dry skinned sides, however with my very very dehydrated skin, it's not one I would use daily but it's still my favourite out of all the moisturisers. Finally, The Body Hero duo is a recent launch that I LOVE. The smell is soft and sweet with a blend of orange blossom and neroli and both leave my skin feeling so soft. At the moment I'm religiously using the Body Hero oil cleanser whilst in the shower, followed by the moisturiser every other wash. They're gorgeous, and though not something everyone likes to splurge on, they'd make a great gift (*cough* trying not to say Christmas *cough*).
THE MINIMAL MAKEUP LOVERS ESSENTIALS
The other products that have made it in to my regular rotation are Boy Brow in the shade medium, a gorgeous little brow gel not too dissimilar from Benefits Gimmie Brow, but without the £23 price tag. And then we have Balm dotcom, the everyone product. There are so many scents to choose from that there really is something for everyone; scentless, cherry, birthday cake, mint, coconut, rose. All of which smell heavenly (well, except the scentless one. Obvs). I'm a cherry and birthday cake kind of girl personally. The recent launch I didn't expect to like, Wowder, is actually a lovely lightweight powder that I use whenever I need a little bit of staying power under my peepers. It doesn't make me look caky and doesn't exaggerate my dehydration lines. I like.
FINALLY
That sweater... We all know the one, that Glossier sweater with it's grey marl and worn in, slouchy feel. Everyone needs one of these in their life. I recommend sizing up for extra cosy-ness.

Towards the end of 2016 I'd been wanting to start the process of stripping back my skincare routine and have a more relaxed approach to my beauty regimen and I feel like the guys at Deciem heard me. The Ordinary launched last year and though it took me a little while to get around to picking out and trying a few things (trust me there's quite the selection), I'm so glad I did. I've been trying out a few products from The Ordinary for a few months now, and it's really changed how I approach my skin everyday. The brand has a simple, stripped back approach in terms of style, application and it's contents, and that's exactly the ethos I'd been looking for. The one thing I would say is knowing what you are looking for can be tricky and those with little knowledge of skincare ingredients will need to read up, which The Ordinary have actually made super easy with a regimen guide which shows application and when to apply and even gives a couple of example routines. I would highly recommend checking out their website as there is a fair amount of information there that could be helpful if the range looks a little daunting on the get go.
That aside, I wanted to show you what I'd been using and my thoughts as I think this is a brand you'll be seeing me mention a lot more in the future! Now, it all started off with the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 which I thought would be a pretty safe starter as my skin can often be dehydrated and I've used seemingly similar products in the past. I use this after cleansing/toning and before any heavier/thicker products like oils or creams. I don't go too product heavy over top of this, mainly just applying a moisturiser quickly after to allow it to work most effectively with the hyaluronic acid. It's pretty similar to Hydraluron - that old blogger fave - in concept, so I treat it as such. I generally use this morning and night unless I'm using something else (generally only switch my routine on the odd night - AM stays the same), and tend to keep it to serum and moisturiser. Nice and simple.
A more recent purchase from them which has quickly become a huge love of mine is the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. It's an exfoliating acid which is often used to fight blemishes. You may remember I'm a big fan of toners that use Salicylic Acid, and I do use these on occasion, however in my experience I've found that persistent, regular use can be a bit too much for my skin, so I do tend to use this at the first signs of blemishes and during my transformation in to spot-zilla, but not when my skin is completely clear. So far this has been working wonders for me and I've actually found my recent breakouts haven't scarred so much. *BREAKS IN TO CELEBRATORY DANCE* One little reminder is that as with any exfoliant, you're going to want to go in hard on the SPF after using this for at least a week - even if it's cloudy. I wear it every day that I leave the house so it's second nature to me, but for those that don't it's worth keeping that in mind. Same goes for the next product...

Then we have the Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%, this is one that I'm currently using in very small amounts a couple of times a week (PM) alongside the Hyaluronic Acid as I'm still building up my skins tolerance levels to it. Even just using a small amount leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth the next morning so I'm excited to continue using this long term and see how it works with my skin.
Then we have "Buffet" which is described as a "multi technology peptide serum", and if I'm honest this is the one I'm still a little unsure of so far. I question weather my skin is still a little too young for this as it's build to target signs of ageing, amongst other concerns. I haven't given this one too much of a road test as my skin recently broke out and I'm waiting for it to chill before I introduce it in to the rotation on a longer term basis. But I have friends who love and swear by this and it seems to be a popular choice in the range if you want something that does a little bit of everything.
All in all, my experience with the brand so far has been really positive. The product quality and performance for the price range has really impressed me. With so many acids in the range (which require SPF for at least a week after use) the one thing I do feel is missing from the selection is a kick ass SPF (correct me if I'm wrong but I can't see a dedicated SPF anywhere). It would be great if they could be a one stop shop for all skincare needs but I'm excited to try more and I think The Ordinary also works as a great stepping stone in to other Deciem brands. They're also Vegan and Cruelty Free as they don't retail in China AND they retail on ASOS, so if you have your VIP membership you can get a few bits and bobs from them delivered to you the next day (worth doing if everything you want is on ASOS, otherwise delivery from their website can take a few more days).
TLDR: Effective, affordable, vegan and cruelty free - reasons why this brand is worth a look in a nut shell. Now we know where I stand, I'd love to know your thoughts? Are you interested? Or does it all seem a little bit too science-y for your tastes?
THE ORDINARY

My Liz Earle Festival Skincare Routine.
*Sponsored by Liz Earle
Festival season is officially over, and this year I was so happy to be able to see out my final festival of the season at Bestival. I’d never been before, which is crazy considering I’m from the south, and it’s almost mandatory that you go if you’re from a seaside town as it’s just so easy to get to. I finally crossed this one off my list and was so honoured to have been given this opportunity by the lovely people at Liz Earle. The Isle of Wight is not only the home of Bestival, but also Liz Earle, so it couldn’t have been a more perfect fit.
We experienced a weekend of wellness with yoga, Liz Earle Facials and great food, whilst also running round Bestival, listening to amazing music, covering ourselves in glitter and eating really naughty food. It’s all about balance.
Festival weekends are so much fun, but they can also give your skin a real hammering. Whether you’re a makeup lover like myself and really enjoy going to town with glitter on your face, or you’re a happy camper who loves the mud. It can all build up, and I never want to spent days trying to soothe my skin post festival, so below I’ve listed my festival skincare routine and tips for pre, during and post festival fun!

1) PACK
Before you go anywhere, pack accordingly. I always enjoy packing my beauty stash, and although I’m talking about skincare at a festival which might seem a bit much to some, it doesn’t have to be too complicated or take up too much space. The Liz Earle Essentials Try Me Kit is perfect for festivals or just a weekend away, as it has everything you could need to take care of your skin in miniature form. It has a mini of the well known Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, the Instant Boost Skin Tonic, Eyebright Soothing Lotion and Skin Repair Moisturiser - all in one teeny pouch with a muslin cloth thrown in too.
2) CLEANSE
My number one priority has been to cleanse, no matter how lazy or incapable I feel, I’ve always managed to do it. Everyday for the past eight years! Even at Reading 2010 I cleansed my skin each night using a bottle of waterloo rinse product off my skin! During the Bestival weekend I used the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish to cleanse my skin and it worked a dream at helping that glitter slide straight off my face!
I also discovered this weekend that if you’re prone to experiencing breakouts, the Eyebright Soothing Lotion is great not only for your eyes, but all over your skin as it contains witch hazel, which can help to keep break outs at bay during the long weekend
3) HYDRATE
One of the most important parts of a long, hot festival weekend is to keep your body hydrated. This is vital for your wellbeing and also helps to keep your skin in check too - it’s a win-win situation. I always make sure at least every other drink I have during a festival is water to make sure I don’t dehydrate.
To give my skin that extra boost of hydration I used the Instant Boost Skin Tonic generously all over my skin before moisturising using the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser to finish up my routine.
4) DETOX
Once I arrive home from any trip away I always use a detox mask as a way of asking my skin for forgiveness! As the name would suggest, the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask works wonders giving your skin a real deep cleanse! I’m also on a week full of exercise and healthy eating (obviously not counting Wednesday night because, duh, it’s bake off) to try and say sorry for all the drinks and pizza stands I ate from!
What are your festival/travel skin care essentials? Do you go all out or keep things minimal? Let me know in the comments!

I will always be a believer in a good skincare routine. There's only so far my diet and fitness routine can go in ensuring a healthy glowing complexion, so I really do rely on my routine to put back what my lifestyle and the environment around me strips it of. I have normal/dehydrated/sometimes dry skin, and because of this I tend to lean towards products that are nourishing or hydrating, but not too rich as I'm very rarely dry enough to need a product with a heavier texture. Over the years I've realised that my skin responds really well to consistency and a more minimal routine - which is so much more achievable and easier to carry out on a daily basis!
CLEANSING
To kick my routine off, I always remove my makeup with a makeup remover or cleansing water. At the moment I'm going quite heavy on the eye makeup on a daily basis so I use the Chanel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover before double cleansing. I love a good balm cleanser, and for that the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel will always be my number one go to product. I always follow cleansing up with a toner/face mist and this is possibly the only step where the product switches up so frequently, at the moment I'm trying the Shiseido Ibuki Quick Fix Mist and enjoying it a lot.
HYDRATING
In the morning I'll use a serum or oil, but mostly recently I've been sticking to a new favourite in the Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum, it's a deeply hydrating serum that leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and allows my makeup to smooth over my skin beautifully. In the evening I mostly use the Sunday Riley Luna Oil - despite not loving this when I first started using it, I've seen great results once used consistently and over a longer period of time. Redness is reduced and my skin looks more even and radiant. My spots also seem to heal quicker and leave a lot less scarring so it really is a magical little oil.
THE FINAL STEP
I always finish my routine with my Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment and Skin Rescuer both morning and night. These are two staples in my routine that I just cannot be without. However on the weekend I have a slightly different routine and use the Le Weekend De Chanel in place of my serum and moisturiser to both exfoliate and hydrate my skin. I do find this can be a little less hydrating than my usual routine so often I'll use the Hydra Beauty Serum before if I feel my skin is a little dehydrated.
Et voila! My skincare routine in a nut shell.

EASY PRE PARTY SKINCARE
Welcome to one of the busiest times of the year - between stressing out over work, party outfits, and which colour scarf your aunt Mabel might appreciate most in her stocking, the next biggest stressor is looking mildly presentable for the many Christmas parties in our calendars - some we look forward to, others, well let’s just say they’re a little more obligatory… This busy schedule coupled with pre Christmas stress often leaves us little time to get ready.
One thing I’ve found to be super important during this time of the year is a good consistent skincare routine. Before getting ready to apply makeup, I always make sure I take a few minutes to prep my face, it’s a minimal routine to avoid being too time consuming, but is something that makes my makeup application look better with way less effort and means I’m not applying makeup on top of an unclean face (reducing the risk of break outs because let's face it we have enough problems with all the food at this time of year!).
I always start by tying my hair back and removing any makeup that might already be on my face. Depending on how much makeup I’m already wearing I’ll either use the Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes* or Micellar Cleansing Water*. I personally prefer the cleansing water if I’m already wearing heavy eye makeup. Both of these remove makeup quickly and without being too drying.
After my face is free from makeup, I massage the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel in to my skin to deep cleanse and nourish my skin. It’s not an overly time consuming step but makes all the difference to my skins radiance. Once I’ve finished cleansing I quickly add a hefty dose of moisturiser to my skin using the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado and the Skin Rescuer. These not only hydrate and nourish my skin (helping with the longevity of products to follow), but help my makeup to glide on and sit better.
It’s such a simple set of steps to add in to my getting ready routine, but so worth it as they really help to perk up my skin after a long day. It's also a pretty short routine and works well post party too, cleansing and hydrating the skin thoroughly, avoiding a sever case of "hangover face"... *shudders*.

This summer has definitely been the summer of travel for me and I'm super thankful that it's been to warmer climates (because seriously, what is the UK weather playing at?), however I have been a little worried about the impact the travel and sun exposure would have on my skin. So when Teresa Tarmey invited me and some of my favourite blogging pals out to Ibiza for a crash course in skin i was pretty excited.
As a beauty therapist to some star faces and an expert in skincare Teresa knows her stuff. She's soon to be opening a second shop in Notting Hill which is going to be packed to the roof top with some of my favourite skincare brands. So no doubt I'll be popping in for a visit as soon as it's open! But until then Teresa gave me my first ever facial (EVER!) and talked me through her top five tips for caring for my skin over the rest of the summer:
DRINK MORE WATER...
A lot more. More than you feel you need. During the summer we all sweat more, so need to make an effort to re-hydrate more often. By the time you're thirsty you're already dehydrated, so make sure to constantly have a bottle of water to hand. This is not only important during warm periods or under sun exposure, but also whilst flying and will help combat the dreaded post-flight face we've all come to dread.
INVEST IN A GOOD SPF...
And wear it daily. During the summer months or whilst exposed to the sunlight for long periods of time, SPF should be reapplied every three hours to ensure you are well protected. Teresa recommended the KIEHL'S ULTRA LIGHT DAILY MOISTURIZER SPF 50 to me whilst in Ibiza and even after spending a whole day on a yacht my face was tan mark free.
DOUBLE CLEANSE...
Double cleansing is a great practice and especially important during the summer months when SPF application is frequent. One cleanse may not be enough to remove all traces of sun protection from your face the first time, so a double cleanse is recommended to ensure the skin is not clogged with product.
EXFOLIATE...
your body at least twice a week. It's best to do this the day before before applying tanning products, but also is a great practice if you're not a fan of the tan as skin feels softer and smoother. Teresa recommended the new CLARISONIC SMART PROFILE BRUSH as her exfoliator of choice as it works for both face and body.
FAKE TAN VS. REAL TAN...
Fake tan all the way. To some people the words still paint a negative picture in their minds, but it's better for your skin and health in the long run rather than damaging your skin.
Hearing Teresa's skincare tips was definitely the motivation I needed to get back on the skincare wagon - after travelling so much I had definitely fallen in to a bit of a lazy routine, but now I'm back in the world of guzzling water and double cleansing and my skin has definitely been thanking me (and Teresa) for it!

It's that time of the month where I have a small panic at the realisation that my life is flashing before my eyes and put together the best of my beauty stash from the past 29 days. This month there are a fair few lip product loves as well as some skincare saviours (shock horror, I know, I never try new skincare!) and a concealer palette that makeup hoarders and collectors will absolutely love!

After a long day staring at a computer screen there's really nothing better than taking some time out and having a good old pamper in the evening. This month I've definitely been overdue one, so I thought I'd combine my evening pamper and midweek video to being you an Evening Pamper Routine Video!
Things always start by putting on the kettle, followed by some super speedy makeup removal and cleansing. I've been using the Simple Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water* for the past few months now and like it so much it made it in to the May Favourites!
It's great at removing makeup quickly and effectively and because it's super gentle I find it's far better for my dehydrated skin and sometimes sensitive skin. Out of all of the triggers (air con, diet, stress etc.), dehydration is the biggest factor that can make my skin become sensitive, so whilst I'm taking my makeup off I always have a peppermint or green tea at hand (see why the first step is to flick the kettle on?) to make sure I'm staying hydrated (and peppermint tea proper mellows me out so it's super relaxing) - but the triple purified water in the cleansing water also helps to keep my skin happy, hydrated and healthy looking!
Once I'm done removing my makeup I then follow it up with a balm cleanser and a mask to nourish and sooth the skin. After this I run myself a bath and then continue with my evening skincare routine before chilling out with a book or binge watching Netflix! Make sure you check out the video for full details on products and the things I'm currently reading and watching!

THINGS I BOUGHT

Goodbye March, hello April. We're approaching one of my favourite months of the year, and whilst I'm excited, I'm also terrified at how quickly the last 30 days have passed me by. But roll on April, lighter evenings and praying for the UK's usual April heatwave, but first, Monthly Favourites.
There were a tonne of new budget favourites this month, from the Bioderma Hydrabio Riche Moisturiser to the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper and a surprising new favourite in the form of the Colab Dry Shampoo.
New high end favourites include the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow and the yet to be released Colour of Youth*, all wrapped up with a little something from Chanel at the end of the video!

There's nothing quite like sitting down of an evening in the run up to Christmas. Switching on Destiny's Child "8 Days of Christmas" (or more recently, Serial Podcast) and having a little festive pamper. Recently I've been loving a few bits from Lush, as well as some rather fetching Christmas Pudding pyjamas that you might have already seen if you're a regular Vlogmas watcher.
An old favourite is the Comforter, a bubble bar that smells incredible and creates the biggest bubbles with a deep pink colour swirling round in the tub. A newer discovery is the Rose Jam shower gel. Literally a 50/50 split of rose and jam. It's divine and I've been using it as part of my daily routine. Whoops, an expensive habit is looming.
Finally, a new love of mine is the Santa's Lip Scrub, a cola flavour lip scrub with a berry red tint. I've been using this after taking off a bold lip (currently a regular occurrence for me) and also before bed with a little lip balm to make sure things are smooth the next morning. It's worth nothing that whilst it's "cola" flavour, it also has a hit of cherry, making it a million times better than standard cola.

I've been using the brush once a day for up to a minute (though when I started I was using it for 30 seconds, once a day) in the evening after taking off the top layer of makeup using a cleansing water. I apply my usual cleanser to my face, but instead of using my hands to massage the product in I've been using the cleansing brush to buff the product in to my skin. I add a small amount of water to the brush before use to dampen it, and then buff the product in in circular motions. This brush doesn't have a rotating head, but I'm totally on board with that as I've found it's far less abrasive and there's no unwanted catching or snagging around my piercing.
For the first three days my skin felt red and sore after use as it wasn't used to the product, but after around four days of use my skins surface started to look a lot more even and the redness on my skin is back to it's usual behaviour - if not slightly better. My skin looks clearer and spots are healing quicker. It's also quite a fun product to add in to your cleansing routine to spice it up a little - I've found I've really looked forward to using this over the past few weeks!
After use I rise the brush off and make sure all of the product has been cleared off the brush head, before taking off the excess water with a towel. I then leave the brush to dry naturally - only charging when needed. The battery life on this one is great (though it is brand new at the moment) and I think this would be easy to take on holiday sans charger due to the battery life and size.
